Milani, now at Cherry Culture

ScreenShot149

This past week I received an email from Cherry Culture informing me of a new product line they were gonna start selling. I’ve seen Milani at CVS before, but it NEVER, EVER goes on sale… The best deal I’ve seen is 25% off. I’m guessing because it is so popular? The reviews for their eyeshadows are actually really good, comparable to that of L’oreal HiP eyeshadows, which are my fave. Anyway, I’m gonna get to the point. Cherry Culture is selling Milani cosmetics for decent prices. Some of them are the same as in-store at CVS, but some are actually cheaper. And, if you live in Vegas, no sales tax! (Not sure about your specific state.) My only disappointment so far is that they don’t have Milani nail polish — which lasts a super long time. Maybe some time soon? Let’s hope!

Cherry Culture NYX haul

Cherry Culture had a sale last month on their NYX cosmetics. Everything was 50% and there was free shipping w/ no minimum. I didn’t buy too much because I already have a pretty well supplied makeup kit, but I did try some new products of theirs, such as the following:

  • concealer jar
  • eyebrow kit
  • glitter eyeliner
  • glitter powder
  • cream blush

Here are some photos of the haul…

I bought two of some of the products because a sale as good as this one won’t happen again, or at least for some time.

I looove NYX!

Broke up with Blockbuster, hooking up with Netflix

So this past weekend, I started up my Netflix account again. I haven’t had it for 3 years, but they still let me do the 2-week free trial — same mailing address and everything. Pretty cool, huh?

The plan I chose was $8.99/month for unlimited DVDs, but only one at a time.

PROS

  • Lots of movies (more than 100,000)
  • Movies include documentaries, workout, stand-up
  • “Watch Now” movies (for unlimited plans only)
  • Less than $10/month for unlimited DVDs
  • XBOX Live integration
  • Windows Media Center Integration (kind of, but see below)
  • “Watch Now” movies available via website (which means I can access them on any computer w/ an internet connection)
  • Recommendations (via your previous rating + preferences)
  • Las Vegas distribution center

CONS

  • Not enough “Watch Now” movies (only 12,000 they say)
  • Netflix Windows Media Center still doesn’t work for me

I am super in love so far. I have watched Ferngully via my boyfriend’s XBOX Live account and the quality and sound was great. But remember, you will need a Gold XBOX Live account in order to watch the movies.

Setting up Netflix for WMC was a pain in the butt! Seriously… All the blogs I read stated that it would “just show up”, but it didn’t… Even after the PC was completely updated. I found a link that was posted where you could install the Netflix plug-in. Here it is: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=147175&clcid=0×409. (Note: Clicking the link will automatically pull up a download. Unzip and then install.) Please note that this still didn’t work for me!

There are other options for accessing Netflix on Windows Media Center, such as MyNetflixPlugin and vmNetflix. I wish you all the luck that I didn’t have.

Note: I will be logging how long it takes for me to receive my DVDs so that I can give you a heads up on the service.

Note: I also sent a Blockbuster DVD and a Netflix DVD at the same time. Blockbuster received their DVD faster, even though both locations are in Vegas.

The perfect to-do app for the busy girl!

What I’m looking for…

  • Folders
  • Tagging
  • Web sync
  • PC/Mac accessible
  • iPhone app
  • Cheap
  • Searchable

I found Toodledo. I heard of Toodledo long ago, but since recently becoming disappointed with Zenbe Lists (no tags/search) and Things (Mac only, expensive), I was on a hunt for a new list/notes/to-do app.

I suggest you try Toodledo.

I haven’t upgraded my Toodledo app to a Pro account yet ($15/year or $1.25/month), but I think I might just do it for the purpose of being able to add subtasks (very useful) and it because it is so cheap! I am on the trial right now and don’t think I could go back to not having sub-tasks!

My only complaints would be is that the site is not as pretty as the Things app for Mac, but who cares? Functionality is key!

Anyway, I’ll give you an update of how it all works out. As for now, I have a lot of transferring, typing, and grouping to do. Toodles!
