Milani, now at Cherry Culture

ScreenShot149

This past week I received an email from Cherry Culture informing me of a new product line they were gonna start selling. I’ve seen Milani at CVS before, but it NEVER, EVER goes on sale… The best deal I’ve seen is 25% off. I’m guessing because it is so popular? The reviews for their eyeshadows are actually really good, comparable to that of L’oreal HiP eyeshadows, which are my fave. Anyway, I’m gonna get to the point. Cherry Culture is selling Milani cosmetics for decent prices. Some of them are the same as in-store at CVS, but some are actually cheaper. And, if you live in Vegas, no sales tax! (Not sure about your specific state.) My only disappointment so far is that they don’t have Milani nail polish — which lasts a super long time. Maybe some time soon? Let’s hope!

Cherry Culture NYX haul

Cherry Culture had a sale last month on their NYX cosmetics. Everything was 50% and there was free shipping w/ no minimum. I didn’t buy too much because I already have a pretty well supplied makeup kit, but I did try some new products of theirs, such as the following:

  • concealer jar
  • eyebrow kit
  • glitter eyeliner
  • glitter powder
  • cream blush

Here are some photos of the haul…

I bought two of some of the products because a sale as good as this one won’t happen again, or at least for some time.

I looove NYX!

Straight upset about this AT&T debacle

I can’t tell you how deeply pissed I am (on the inside) about this AT&T crap. Not only are they gonna upcharge me an extra $200 for the 3G S but they want me to extend my contract too! Plus, no MMS until mid-July. I’ve been MMS-less for almost 8 months and I want it sooo bad. Just today, my friend @F0X2FR3SH sent me an MMS… I don’t think he meant to rub it in my face purposely, but it sucked to have to go to viewmymessage.com. I guess all I can do now is hope for Apple to release a brand spankin’ new iPhone next summer so that all these people who have a 3G S right now can suck it… nicely.

This is what I hope it looks like…

This is one of the rumored iPhone pics that came out before WWDC. It supposedly had a front-facing camera and was called the iPhone Video. Lord, please make my wishes come true. *crosses fingers*

Broke up with Blockbuster, hooking up with Netflix

So this past weekend, I started up my Netflix account again. I haven’t had it for 3 years, but they still let me do the 2-week free trial — same mailing address and everything. Pretty cool, huh?

The plan I chose was $8.99/month for unlimited DVDs, but only one at a time.

PROS

  • Lots of movies (more than 100,000)
  • Movies include documentaries, workout, stand-up
  • “Watch Now” movies (for unlimited plans only)
  • Less than $10/month for unlimited DVDs
  • XBOX Live integration
  • Windows Media Center Integration (kind of, but see below)
  • “Watch Now” movies available via website (which means I can access them on any computer w/ an internet connection)
  • Recommendations (via your previous rating + preferences)
  • Las Vegas distribution center

CONS

  • Not enough “Watch Now” movies (only 12,000 they say)
  • Netflix Windows Media Center still doesn’t work for me

I am super in love so far. I have watched Ferngully via my boyfriend’s XBOX Live account and the quality and sound was great. But remember, you will need a Gold XBOX Live account in order to watch the movies.

Setting up Netflix for WMC was a pain in the butt! Seriously… All the blogs I read stated that it would “just show up”, but it didn’t… Even after the PC was completely updated. I found a link that was posted where you could install the Netflix plug-in. Here it is: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=147175&clcid=0×409. (Note: Clicking the link will automatically pull up a download. Unzip and then install.) Please note that this still didn’t work for me!

There are other options for accessing Netflix on Windows Media Center, such as MyNetflixPlugin and vmNetflix. I wish you all the luck that I didn’t have.

Note: I will be logging how long it takes for me to receive my DVDs so that I can give you a heads up on the service.

Note: I also sent a Blockbuster DVD and a Netflix DVD at the same time. Blockbuster received their DVD faster, even though both locations are in Vegas.

App Store purchases this week…

I’ve been completely bored and totally procrastinating with all my school assignments, so I have been getting iPhone apps like crazy. It passes the time and I really like playing video games on the go!

  • Sally’s Spa $1 - Super addicting! I almost beat the entire thing in 24 hrs because I couldn’t stop playing!
  • Sally’s Salon $1 - I liked Sally’s Spa, so I bought this. I can’t wait to play w/ it.
  • Let’s Golf $1 – It is #2 on the Top 25 Apps list, but I have yet to try it. The screenshots look great too!
  • StoneLoops! of Jurassica $1 - Addicting! I get pissed ’cause it takes forever to beat some levels for me.
  • Flight Control $1 – It has super good reviews and has been in the Top 25 Apps list for some time. I have yet to try it.
  • Twittelator Pro $5 – While there isn’t a Twitter app that can do EVERYTHING, this is as close as it will get. It’s worth the $5, but I think most people are skeptical of getting it due to the price. It is better than Tweetie & TweetDeck, in my opinion.
